This December we went up to Cheboygan for a long weekend just before Christmas. We were so excited to check out Cheboygan State Park. We’ve been through and by this area so many times before, but just never really took the time to stop. We did a short hike towards the front of the park, and had a lot of fun just walking through the snow covered campground, and out to the water.
Cheboygan State Park has a system of well-marked trails that provide access to scenic Lake Huron vistas. There are campsites, cabins, and even a tepee to chose from if looking to stay overnight. They have fishing areas, and a day-use area and lodge as well. I’d reccomend booking well ahead of time if you’re looking at a cabin, we’ve looked into it and they are booked out quite far in advance!
These winter scenes just can’t be beat. Every turn we were in awe, the trees were heavy with snow and just beautiful!
We loved this park and are hoping to go back in the summer, do a little more hiking and to check out this campground sometime as well.
We hope you get a chance to visit Cheboygan State Park too!
