This campground lies within the Hiawatha National Forest. It is pretty basic, and pretty rustic. It’s a smaller campground with just 70 campsites, which sits on Otter Lake. It’s a great little lake for fishing, and small boating.
This one is definitely considered “off the beaten path”. You wont find activities, or much of anything for that matter. Ian and I camped here prior to having the boys. We really enjoyed the quiet of it. I will say, if you are traveling this far, be warned that it starts to shut down up there early October. We were one of two units being camped on while we were there. The electricity in the bath house was not on. It was one of those times where I wasn’t going in alone, so Ian and the flashlight came in with me every time. This is deep in the woods friends! It’s quiet. It’s quite lovely. Ian went hunting for a little while. There are hunting trails that back up to this campground so if you are out here in October, wear your orange.
Overall, love this campground. Not a lot for kids to do, but then again, sometimes it’s just about getting off the beaten path, and making your own fun!
